Can “Emotional Baggage” Cause Physical Pain?

Sandy had chronic knee pain. Whether she was walking, sitting or resting in bed, her knee continually hurt. Three different specialists had treated her knee, but nothing helped.

It turned out, the pain was caused by emotions buried deep within her body. Sandy’s muscles, joints and cartilage were fine. But when her trapped emotions blocked the flow of energy in her leg, it made her knee hurt.

Where Does Emotional Baggage Come From?

Have you ever had your heart broken? Have you loved someone, only to realize he just wasn’t that into you? Has anyone ever said something that hurt your feelings? Have you ever felt anxiety, pain or stress?

Life is filled with joyful moments, but it also comes with plenty of opportunities to feel pain. After those experiences, it’s common for us to put up barriers. We even joke about it and call it “emotional baggage.” But it’s no joke.

Hanging onto emotions blocks your energy, holding it back like a dam, cutting off your organs from the healthy flow of vital energy they need. Emotions that stay trapped in your body can make you sick and cause you tremendous physical pain.

The Energy of Emotions

Everything that exists in our universe is made up of energy. We are like fish, swimming in an invisible sea of energy. The wi-fi signal you pick up with your smart phone, laptop, iPad, Kindle, and other devices is an energy stream in the form of radio waves. Your heart and brain emit waves that can be monitored.

When you feel emotion, it is not just a feeling inside you. You actually emanate the energy of that emotion. You may not be able to see it, but it has a direct impact on your health. It can not only cause emotional pain, but physical pain.

Energy healing is one of the oldest practices in the world. Since 4000 B.C. healers have understood that our health depends on the quality of the energy that flows through our bodies. Chinese medicine calls it “qi.” Ayurvedic medicine calls it “prana.”

When that energy is blocked by trapped emotions, pain sets in. Only by releasing trapped emotions can you relieve the pain and start to heal.

Shifting Your Energy

How can you heal your body’s energy field if you cannot see it? You must use some other form of energy.

The easiest, cheapest, most widely available energy tool is the everyday refrigerator magnet. Don’t be fooled just because it’s shaped like a brightly colored piece of fruit or cartoon character. The magnet beneath is the real thing, and it’s just what you need.

Is it really so surprising? After all, we are magnetic beings. We cannot see them, but we all emit magnetic fields. The planet we live on produces an enormous magnetic field from the earth’s inner core. Shifting your body’s magnetic energy, ever so slightly, can give you the relief from pain you’ve been waiting for.

How to Release Your Trapped Emotions

1. Establish a baseline.

First, find a baseline for true/false reactions. (Polygraph operators do this all the time.) Stand relaxed and perfectly still, with your feet shoulder width apart. Make a positive statement. (“Yes!”) Focus on that thought, and notice how your body sways slightly forward. Then try a false statement. (“No!”) Your body will sway slightly back. Your subconscious mind giving you these responses is what we call a baseline, and it teaches you what sort of focus you need to get answers.

2. Ask if a trapped emotion exists.

Most of us have trapped emotions. Ask yourself a question using the sway test. If the answer is no, it means this is not the time to release the emotion. Wait until you’re ready.

3. Identify the emotion.

On the Discover Healing website, you can sign up for the free starter kit and receive the chart of emotions. This chart can be used to identify each trapped emotion. Simply go through the chart by asking questions in the following order, using the sway test:

  1. “Is the trapped emotion in column A?” (if no, it is in column B)
  2. “Is the trapped emotion in an odd row in this column?” (if not, is in an even column)
  3. “Is the trapped emotion in this row?” (name the remaining rows one at a time)
  4. “Is the trapped emotion … Blame?” (name the emotions in that column and row)

4. Release the emotion.

Place the magnet on your forehead between your eyebrows. Relax and breath deeply. Slide the magnet up over the top of your head and down the back of your neck. Repeat three times, focusing your loving intention on releasing the trapped emotion.

5. Confirmation.

When you finish, use the sway test to answer the question: “Has the trapped emotion been released?” If the answer is yes, it is gone permanently. If the answer is no, repeat the process with the magnet three more times.

Remember, the magnet will actually magnify the effect of your thoughts and emotions. To amplify the results, hold a feeling of love in your heart as you release the trapped emotion. Let yourself feel a real sense of gratitude in knowing that it will be gone forever.
