A 2020 update to the Handbook of Instructions on medical and health care by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints reads:
“Seeking competent medical help, exercising faith, and receiving priesthood blessings work together for healing, according to the will of the Lord.” Latter-day Saints “are discouraged from seeking miraculous or supernatural healing from an individual or group that claims to have special methods for accessing healing power outside of prayer and properly performed priesthood blessings. These practices are often referred to as ‘energy healing.’ Other names are also used. Such promises for healing are often given in exchange for money.”
We at Discover Healing agree with this wise counsel from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And whereas not all people have access to priesthood blessings, either by proximity or by awareness and knowledge, we underscore the necessity and power of faith in God and prayer to assist each other in returning to health—physically and mentally. Seeking competent medical help and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are always encouraged. Practitioners of the Emotion Code and Body Code System do not perform miracles nor engage in any supernatural healings. Their only purpose is to return the body to a state where it can heal itself as it was divinely designed to do. The term, “energy healing” is used to reference a wide variety of practices, some of which are not rooted in prayer nor acknowledge the power of God to heal. The Body Code System was discovered through prayer, asking God how to help others. As for compensating a person for assisting with health, such as paying a physical therapist for their time, certified Discover Healing practitioners can be compensated for their time for assisting others in creating the conditions where their bodies can heal themselves.

I too have considered the council from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and agree, also knowing that this work with The Emotion Code and The Body Code has been given to us through a pure vessel in Dr. Brad and his team and whole heartedly know it came through a sincere desire and exercise of faith and prayer to bless the lives of those who sincerely seek help. This work in no way claims to perform miracles and supernatural healings, It is gratifying to know that with this gift and knowledge our purpose is to return the body to a state where it can heal itself.
Thank you so much for addressing this! I think the Emotion Code and the Body Code are amazing gifts from God to help others and ourselves clear blockages and imbalances which in turn allows the body temple to heal itself, and with Christ as the True Healer overseeing the process. I’m a Physician Assistant practicing in family medicine and urgent care for over 20 years, where I feel like a drug pusher. I’m excited to finally have a way to truly help my patients! I’m also a faithful Latter-day Saint with a strong testimony of living prophets. My husband is in our stake presidency and supports me in becoming an EC/BC practitioner. I believe the counsel in the Handbook refers to those who promise miraculous healings for exorbitant fees, who take advantage of others in desperate health situations. So sad! But I was questioning and confused when my family questioned me about this, so I appreciate you writing and confirming what I felt to be true. Bless you for your work, Dr. Nelson!
